Reno Plumbing For The Non Plumber.

By Bob Milderman

Reno, Nevada has been touched by the foreclosure problem like other parts of the country. And like in other areas real estate investors and first time home buyers are looking to Reno for a good deal so they can buy and sell to make a profit, rent out, or move in with their family. But in almost every case a foreclosed property will need a lot of rehab work when the buyer takes possession. And this is where the experts at Reno plumbing can help.

People who have to vacate the property because of foreclosure have months to live in the house before the legal process is complete. In that time they let the house fall into disrepair.

They neglect the plumbing work among other needs. You will find water heaters needing replacement, clogged toilets, frozen water pipes and other plumbing repairs.

If you are good with fixing plumbing then great; and if you have the time to spend then do it yourself. I myself would call a plumber. I remember one house I was living in I tried to repair the leaking faucet in the bathroom sink. I knew I had to turn off the water source before working on the faucet. But I did not find a shut off valve under the sink.

I decided the leak was so bad I did not have time to look for the valve. I was on my own because I had no finances to call a plumber. I decided that I probably did not have to shut off the water to fix a leak. So I went back into the bathroom and I looked for a wrench to fit the need and confidently proceeded with my plumbing repair.

I took off the plastic cap on the faucet knob. I knew it had something to do with a worn out washer. I chose my wrench and went to work on the ball assembly. It would not turn. I applied more and more pressure and it started to give. I thought great this will be a snap. The assembly came farther and farther out.

Right when my confidence level was at its peak the part exploded off the faucet and a fountain of water shot up to the ceiling drenching me in cold water in the process. I literally gasped from the cold shower and a second later after gaining my composure struggled to find the part I had removed. I found it and worked it back in. Standing in a puddle of water if I was in Reno it would have been time to call the experts at Reno plumbing. - 30517
